Everyday life in Herlev is connected

Just around the corner from Bakkekæret you'll find Herlev Bymidte and Herlev Bygade. Here you can do your everyday shopping, but also find restaurants, clothing stores, hairdressers and much more. You can take a walk on the small street at Herlev Torv or visit the shops in Herlev Bymidte Center. Just a few minutes from the city center is BIG Shopping, where you'll find a DIY store, a cinema and a playland for the little ones.

Within easy reach you'll find a medical center, physiotherapist, gym and pharmacy ready to help you with any health need. Whatever you're looking for, Herlev has everything you need for your daily life and more.

Get your heart rate up or down in beautiful nature

Whether your heart rate goes up or down is up to you. Herlev is known for its many parks and green spaces where you can either go for a walk or play sports outdoors. You can take the kids to the skating rink at Hjortespringbadet, test your coordination with parkour or visit one of the exercise playgrounds. Northwest of Herlev is Hareskoven, where you can saddle up and try one of Denmark's most visited mountain bike trails of 22 kilometers.

If you're in the mood for a quiet excursion or walk, you can visit Sømosen, a beautiful shallow wetland. There are paths all around the marsh and along the route there is a shelter, animal pen, picnic house and bird tower.

Efficiently connected to the metropolitan area

The infrastructure in Herlev works - whether you're traveling locally or further afield. Both children and adults are directly, safely and easily connected to Herlev city center thanks to the Green Wedge trail system that runs through Bakkekæret. It's also easy to get across the city by bike, and by car, you can quickly get to highway 3.

At Herlev Station, you'll have great transportation options with public transport. There are 13 bus lines, and S-train lines C and H ensure that you are connected to the entire Greater Copenhagen area. In addition, the light rail will open in 2025.
